Privacy Policy

UnfollowScout is built privacy-first. The core promise is simple: your Instagram data export is parsed and analyzed entirely in your browser. Your followers, following lists, and any derived analysis never leave your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

What we store on our servers

When you create an account, we store only the minimum needed to run the service:

• Your email address and a securely hashed password (managed by our authentication provider).
• Your subscription plan and billing status (managed by Stripe; we never store card numbers).
• A counter of how many free actions you have used, to enforce plan limits.

What stays on your device

Your uploaded Instagram export, the resulting follower and non-follower lists, snapshots, and favourites are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB). Clearing your browser storage removes this data permanently.

Third-party processors

• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Our hosting and database provider — to store your account email and subscription state.

Data requests

You can delete your account at any time, which removes your email and subscription record from our systems. To request deletion or ask a privacy question, contact us at the email listed on our site.
