What is Instagram health Score and How to find it

Numbers like follower count only tell part of the story.

Your Instagram Health Score helps you understand the quality of your account rather than simply its size.

In this post, we will tell you what your Instagram health score is and how to find it.

What the score measures

UnfollowScout combines four signals into a score from 0 to 100:

  • Follower-to-following ratio — whether more people follow you than you follow, or the reverse
  • Follow-back rate — how many of the accounts you follow actually follow you back
  • Growth trend — whether your follower count is rising or falling since your last check (unlocks fully once you’ve uploaded more than once)
  • Following list staleness — how many long-followed accounts still haven’t followed back

Together these provide a quick, honest snapshot of your account’s overall health — calculated entirely on your device from your own export.

Understanding your score

80–100: Healthy
A well-balanced account with strong mutual relationships and more followers than following.

60–79: Good
You’re in a solid position, though there may be a few accounts worth reviewing.

40–59: Fair
You may be following meaningfully more people than follow you back.

0–39: Needs attention
You’re likely following far more people than follow you back, and cleaning up your following list is worth prioritising.

How to improve your Health Score

You can improve your score by:

  • Reviewing and unfollowing accounts that don’t follow back
  • Building genuine, mutual relationships rather than chasing raw follower counts
  • Uploading new Instagram exports regularly to track progress

Remember, your Health Score is designed to help you spot trends over time, not to judge your account in a single moment.
